The Hunger Site

I've recently stumbled across this awesome website called The Hunger Site. There is a button you can click every day and the sponsors of the site donate money toward food for those in third world countries. What a fantastic opportunity for all of us to make a small, yet important difference in the lives of fellow human beings. Why not visit this important site, donate some food (it don't cost you a cent!) and make it a daily website that you visit. Click here and check it out. Below in some info from the site on just how huge this problem of hunger really is. It's not just about keeping people full. Hunger causes so many more problems than that. It is so easy to forget how hard some people have it, when there is food on the table three times a day. I want to be contiually shocked and saddened by the state of the world and the greed of our country and others. I want to be shocked into doing something about it.

It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That's roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year.
About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. This is down from 35,000 ten years ago, and 41,000 twenty years ago. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.
Famine and wars cause about 10% of hunger deaths, although these tend to be the ones you hear about most often. The majority of hunger deaths are caused by chronic malnutrition. Families facing extreme poverty are simply unable to get enough food to eat.
